Tuneable Diode Laser Analysers

Using tuneable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), LaserGas II is a family of analysers for fast and reliable measurement of single gases.

Introduced to the market in 1995 and since employed in more than 2000 LaserGas monitors worldwide, TDLAS is a well-proven and reliable technology for demanding industrial applications. NEO Monitors’ range of Tuneable Diode Laser (TDL) Analysers has been continuously perfected maintaining our technological edge with unrivalled detection limits.

LaserGas II instruments employ the measurement principle known as ‘single line spectroscopy’, which eliminates cross interference from other gases and enables very low concentrations of gas to be detected .

TDLAS is a versatile tool for process control and emission monitoring with the following key features:

  • Immediate response to concentration changes
  • In-situ measurement, eliminates sample handling
  • No cross interference from background gases
  • Stable calibration, no zero drift
  • Broad dynamic range (ppb, ppm, % level)
  • Wide range of measurable gases (O2, CO, CO2, HF, HCl, NH3…)

Different Applications require different Configurations Available in the LaserGas II product line:

Features

Designed for continuous monitoring, LaserGas II models offer high sensitivity with detection limits in the ppb and low ppm ranges. Fast response times of down to one second are possible depending on the specific application. The range includes models for measuring O2, CO, HCl, HF, NH3, H2S, CH4 as well as for measuring two different gases simultaneously with a single laser (see Table of gases below). Gas detection is unaffected by dust and smoke or fog and rain and measurements down to < 1% transmission are possible. No compensation is required for the presence of other gases. Automatic correction for process temperature and pressure variations is included.

LaserGas II monitors are very compact and robust instruments suitable for outdoor use. The transmitter and receiver units include all necessary electronics and are protection classified to IP66.

Laser Gas II monitors are fully configured to customers needs and tuned to the specific process, to ensure optimum performance and zero cross interference from other gases.

Maintenance and calibration

All our analysers are delivered with our proprietary service software for easy set-up of the instrument.

LaserGas II monitors incorporate fault diagnostics providing warning messages if maintenance should be required. There are no moving parts and no consumables. Routine maintenance is limited to visual inspection and (if necessary) cleaning of optical windows.

The hardware design is modular. Electronic boards (except for laser module) are the same for all LaserGas II analysers no matter which gas they measure. This modular build-up enables on-site maintenance by replacement of modules, thereby increasing the availability of the instrument.

Calibration checks are recommended once a year using certified gas.
