Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned territories and industries.
  • Build long-term relationships with end users, EPC contractors, OEMs, system integrators and distributors.
  • Generate and qualify sales leads through customer visits, networking, exhibitions and digital channels.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and achieve agreed sales targets.

Technical Sales

  • Understand customer process requirements and recommend appropriate Modcon solutions.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations and commercial offers.
  • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations and training.
  • Conduct customer meetings both independently and jointly with senior management.
  • Support contract negotiations and order closing.

Application Engineering

  • Review customer specifications, P&IDs and process data.
  • Recommend suitable analyser technologies and system configurations.
  • Prepare technical compliance documents and support bid submissions.
  • Liaise with engineering teams to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), commissioning and customer acceptance where required.

Customer Support

  • Provide pre-sales technical support to customers and partners.
  • Maintain regular contact with existing customers to identify additional business opportunities.
  • Support distributors and representatives with technical and commercial enquiries.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and application advice when required.

Sales Administration

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity tracking and sales forecasts.
  • Prepare visit reports and monthly activity reports.
  • Monitor competitors, market trends and new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to marketing materials, case studies and technical articles where appropriate.

Continuous Development

  • Develop detailed knowledge of Modcon’s products and applications.
  • Maintain awareness of developments in hydrogen, refining, petrochemical, industrial gas and process industries.
  • Participate in internal product training and external industry events.
  • Continuously improve technical knowledge and consultative selling skills.

Residence and hours

Preferred location: Cambridge area, United Kingdom. Full-time position (40 hours per week). Frequent travel throughout the UK and Europe, with occasional international travel. Flexible working hours may be required to support customer meetings, exhibitions and different time zones.
