Responsibilities

Business Development

Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Identify and qualify new business opportunities across hydrogen, industrial gases, refining, petrochemical, chemical, power and energy sectors.
Develop relationships with EPC contractors, system integrators, OEMs, technology providers and end users.
Establish and manage strategic partnerships and distributor networks.
Develop key accounts and expand business with existing customers.

Sales Leadership

Lead complex technical and commercial sales opportunities from initial contact through contract award.
Develop sales strategies for target markets and priority accounts.
Coordinate bid strategies and commercial negotiations.
Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts and opportunity plans.
Achieve agreed sales and profitability targets.

Market Development

Analyse market trends, customer requirements and competitor activities.
Identify new applications and emerging market opportunities.
Support the introduction of new products and technologies.
Recommend new business initiatives and strategic investments.

Customer Engagement

Build long-term relationships with senior customer management and decision makers.
Conduct high-level technical and commercial presentations.
Represent Modcon at conferences, exhibitions and industry events.
Support contract negotiations with customers and partners.

Internal Coordination

Work closely with Engineering to develop technical solutions that meet customer requirements.
Support Project Management during project execution where commercial input is required.
Coordinate with Marketing on promotional campaigns, technical publications and product launches.
Mentor and support junior sales engineers where appropriate.

Reporting

Maintain CRM records and sales forecasts.
Prepare monthly business development reports.
Monitor sales performance against objectives and KPIs.
Report significant market developments and competitive intelligence.

Personal skills

Degree in Engineering, Business or a related technical discipline.
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand complex technical solutions.
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
Ability to build relationships at all organisational levels.
Full UK driving licence.
Right to work in the UK.

Residence and hours

Preferred location: United Kingdom (Cambridge or London area preferred). Full-time position (40 hours per week). Frequent travel throughout the UK, Europe and international markets. Flexible working hours may be required to support customers in different time zones.
